2006 2.5tdi Alarm Issues

Hi,

Not the owner, asking for a third party - not too familiar with defenders but doing my best to help!

Stepdad has just bought a 2006 2.5Tdi Defender and we're trying to sort an issue with the alarm.

It locks and unlocks via the fob. Alarm seems to set. Tested triggering via opening door through window and sticking hand in front of ultrasonic sensor and you can audibly hear a ticking noise from the dashboard like a fast indicator sound for around 10ish seconds and then it goes off.

Now, there's no alarm siren (it's a horn on this model, not the battery backup unit as i've checked it's not faulty) and also no indicators flashing either.

All fuses i could see relative to the alarm have been checked for continuinity and the relay under the centre of the dash has been changed too.

Would anyone by chance have any ideas please?

Bit of further info - previous owner has seemingly added LED indicator and side lights to the front and rear of the vehicle, all indicators are working though.
