Puma Heater Fan Switch Stuck
Hello, i'm having some issues with my heater fan switch which is stuck on windscreen and the one above (windscreen and feet). I've had the front bit of the dash off to see if I can see anything stopping it moving it but didn't have any joy. I can see that the cable goes down to just behind the gearstick and can feel a lever moving. But even moving it manually doesn't let it go to the last two settings.



The recirculation slider is also stuck to the far right but less important to resolve...

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on what might be causing this?

Cable jammed by a stray cable, or may need replacing or gummed up by old grease.

Keep all moving parts behind there well lubed up with silicone grease, the factory used little but when greased up nicely they are smooth as anything.
Sometimes the cable can jam, bend and not slide back in and that needs replacing but lack of lube can be what does it.
You’ll need to take the centre dash out to get at it, but as I said silicone grease and a small paintbrush like an artists one is ideal and lube everything that moves, check anything is not jammed by a stray cable and if not you may need to replace one but hopefully not.

I can see that there are two levers attached to the dial which control the direction of the air. Does anyone know which one on the diagram below would control the main fans for the face? I tried to move these manually but didn’t have any luck…

I suggest you remove the panel and see it for yourself and be careful with the plastics as they are of .....low quality and breake easily. Puma 110" SW

Those items with teeth on that mesh, they also are good at getting a cable or stray wire trapped in there jamming that up as well.
Plenty of silicone grease I found is good for it all, will make it better than new.
The factory used very little lube in my opinion, and the lube getting contaminated is little issue with it being relatively protected from the elements in most places.
Don’t try and operate the sliders too fast either even if lubed up well, the wire can double back on itself /bend instead of going back in.
And then it won’t want to again either. Rolling Eyes $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Just thought I’d report back incase someone else gets this issue. Turns out it wasn’t gummed up cables or a trapped wire…the mechanism at the back of the dial had come out of the channel.
