300tdi to 3.9 V8 swap
Hello,

I'm planning to replace my 300tdi with a 3.9 v8. Now I am wondering if there will be any problems with the wiring and ecu. What is the best thing to do or not to do. What is your experience with this?

Other tips about the engine swap are welcome as well.

I look forward to your responses.

I just re did mine.

Are you going cux14?

Buy new sensors and get rover gauge.

Loads online about cux injection. Download it all and have a good read.

Timing is an issue for me as I have the 4.0 serp engine and it has no timing marks. I think in the future I’m going to fit the newer ignition with coil packs.

Love the sound and power.
Hate the 10 mpg I get, can’t resist the load pedal now.

Steve.

I did a 3.5 efi swap about 27 years ago, all standard parts, there was 4 or 5 wires to connect and the adapter plate, probably engine mounts. Perhaps it was a simpler engine I had? It did 18mpg.
