Retrofit front passenger seat Isofix Defender 90
So the Defender 90 comes without isofix mount on the front passenger seat as opposed to all other models Defender. In case anyone is interested I just bought and mounted one. LR dealer would not mount it. Liability issue or something.
Easy job not requiring seat out or anything. Just remove plastic outside cover (the one around the seat controls) that's clipped in place and with one screw. Then unhook the seat bottom back fabric with two hooks underneath seat. Lift up fabric and just slide the isofix bracket in place aligning with existing screw holes and fasten with four screws. Took 30 minutes.

Parts needed are
1pc - LR089419 Isofix bar
4pc - LR048645 Screw

Worth noting is that if you put a rear-facing seat in the front it will be harder to evacuate rear passengers in case of emergency. We will only be using the front isofix when there is no-one in the back. 2025 Defender 130 V8

I suspect your last sentence is the reason why LR didn't fit it in the first place. Obviously not a problem if you're aware of the limitation but LR can't take that chance. Darren

Yes, for sure that is the case. But for those who want to be able to have one there is nothing technically different with the seat to hold you back from installing one. Haven’t seen anything about it so just thought I’d let people know. 👌🏻 2025 Defender 130 V8

Worth pointing out is that it is actually easier folding the front seat forward when there is a rear-facing seat in it than if there is a high back booster seat... Not requiring isofix. So the decision from LR to skip isofix in the front in the 90 but not specifically advice against high back booster seats is interesting...
Difference is that you can slide the seat forward better with the booster seat but not fold it. So you won't get out from the back anyway. 2025 Defender 130 V8
