Heavens that's strict. l wonder if it's a sensible thing to police in that way, as it will just encourage more fly tipping.

You should come to Wiltshire. Just smile and you're in. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

Round here they don't allow vans or "commercial" waste and they ask your address before you are let in.
The result is random fly tipping around the country lanes. I realise letting anyone into the tip wouldn't stop all fly tipping but l bet there would be a lot less. l think a lot of the fly tipping is the "rubbish removal, cheaper than a skip" adverts stuck on lamp posts and railings at road junctions. |

Fully agree on the fly tipping. Have you ever tried to legally dispose of paint...!?
It must cost us far more to clean up fly tipping than have them simply bring it to the dump directly.. |

There are 'Recycle Groups' who will take the paint off you and offer it to another member.

When I lived in Surrey used to go to the dump regularly. Very well organised people helping you to separate your waste. Yeah it was for domestic waste, but I think vans and the like maybe had to pay some. You could dispose of everything you could also buy.
In France now it seems everything waste related has been privatised and its a disaster. You have to request an access card for the dump first (6 months and still waiting for that), then there are a few local dumps but we cannot go there, our designated dump is 45 min away each way. Obviously terrible opening times and limited disposal options. Still don't know where to drop of used oil, which every garage by law should take in for free but none does. so for now I just leave that next to the skip at Norauto (Halfords equivalent). Batteries, bricks, wood, paint, etc I just resorted to adding it in with the regular waste. I don't understand why we make recycling so difficult in mainland Europe. At least in the UK they want you to recycle. |
