L663 remote activations, possible?
I have seen at least one company online that from the UK is capable of remotely activating software, specifically adaptive cruise control, do you know this type of service? is it reliable? Will the distributor detect it? My car is under official warranty. Would it be compromised? Could the configuration be lost after a factory update? There are a lot of answers, I'm sorry, I would appreciate it if I only got one or none, thanks for reading.πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

I'm not aware of it being something that can be carried out remotely. Normally you'd need a Gap IID G4 tool to effect the changes to the CCF (Car Configuration File) to enable the adaptive cruise and other changes. I know Hunters Prestige do activations via a laptop so assume they use a different tool/software to achieve the same end.
I would be wary of paying someone to do something remotely as they'll expect payment up front and what do you do if they don't effect any changes?
My advice is get a Gap IID G4 tool and recoup the cost after two activations.
I'm not sure where you stand regarding warranty. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

Thanks for the answer, my interest is only and exclusively in the adaptive cruise control, which is relatively cheap to activate, but I think that your advice regarding the purchase of the GAP IID is wise advice...but I don't know why it gives me afraid to use it! maybe it's because Spanish was never implemented in the tool and my English is limited and I could screw up a lot... I don't know. ..I'll think about it, thank you.

Hi Ruben,

I did some change by myself with GAP tool, and no issues with dealer. But, I also expererimented an issue where dealer change a module and reload factory CCF file, so all changes made by myself was lose. Not a big deal, just need to redo changes with GAP tool.

Regarding companies doing changes in remote, I have some experience, sent me a PM and I could share witch company I used.

Regards

Before you make any changes with the tool it takes a backup copy of your files first. If you make a mistake you can revert to the previous settings. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

In reality it would only be to activate the Apatative Cruise, I don't know how complicated it can be to do that by myself, the modification of the CCF I imagine is indirect, I won't have to edit it and I won't have to put my dirty hands in there, or even see it, no ? I imagine I would sell the tool immediately afterwards.

You are very generous, I was thinking of asking for Β£25!! πŸ˜‰
…. But seriously, with the GAP is it necessary to physically edit the CCF? I thought that you only chose the modification and the machine did it for you, if I have to see, edit and modify the CCF, you make me even more discouraged from doing anything with such a risk!!

Read through the Gap IID thread on this site and it talks you through quite clearly what it is you have to do. πŸ‘πŸ» 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

They’ve rebranded themselves. They are now called Hunters prestige. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black
