Super long shot.... left my Optimil filler cap on a pump at a Total garage Pezenas, off the A9 near Narbonne yesterday. Didn't notice until I was 2 hours down the road. If anyone happens to be passing that way and needs a fuel stop, be wonderful you could ask if its in their lost property box

have you tried giving them a call? going back many years I left my wallet on my roof and drove off. needless to say it wasn't there by the time I'd driven 80 miles home. but I did get it back (less the money inside - of course). good luck. |

I can't find a number for them, plus my French is close to none existent beyond the usual ordering beer or food. We aren't going back that way anyhow so even it is this still there I can't get it without major inconvenience. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I've found names / numbers before now using google street view. but as you say phoning would be a problem.... an email with google translate - if they have it perhaps they'll post with a bank transfer......... sounds like an order for a new one |

Through an unlikely turn of events, I now have my filler cap back in hand here in the UK. I joined a French LR Facebook Group for other reasons, so put a post up about this. A helpful chap on there phoned the garage in question, who still had the cap. I asked if he could ask the garage to package it, and I would arrange for a courier to collect it, but my new friend pointed out that I may get stung for a handling fee, duty and VAT when it gets back to the UK, so he had another plan to keep things simple. He arranged to have it shipped to a friend of his in Normandy who regularly returns to the UK. They in-turn posted it home to me from their UK address and it landed on my door mat this morning.
Yet another example of how great the LR community can be. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |
