Yes the MY25 changes are great for JLR, not so great for us.
You now have no option but to have the X-Dynamic pack if you want an SE or HSE. That’s an extra few thousand to fork out for us, for kit that only costs JLR a few hundred quid. It’s now impossible to specify a nicely specced car without having the gloss black trim and other ‘urban look’ bits and pieces. I prefer the ‘country look’ matt finish and I’m not alone - almost 40% of Defenders on the LR used website are non-X Dynamic spec. Quite staggering how the model range has been rationalised since launch. Bet they will drop the S model in MY26. |

I’m the opposite, would’ve preferred a 25MY S over 24MY HSE, for me the HSE doesn’t have anything worth having over the S. Interestingly though you can’t have the now entry level model with the now entry level D250 engine. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Back in 2022 l ordered a base specification 90 D200 Hard Top with a few extras and l signed the order form at £47,000 including VAT
First the D200 was deleted and l had to have the D250...an extra £3,000 for some software. Then, the price increased by £4,000 Take it or leave it said the dealer. So l ended up paying £54,500 l was going to buy the vehicle and sell it on as soon as the six months were up, but after a couple of months decided l really liked it so have kept it. |
