On my 2005 truck, fill the tank - gauge says full. It will happily record the first 100 miles to between 1/2 and 3/4. Then it stops. Doesn't move thereafter to empty and beyond, which is too stressful to leave alone.
Where do I start please? Sold the much modified 110 2.8, in Oz Brought the 90 home from Switzerland ... |

Mine did a similar thing.... would read OK from full down to about half way, then either drop like a stone or just be really waaay out.
It was due to the dampener circuit in the speedo head (the fuel level feed goes through the speedo). I just put a wire link in to bypass the damping portion.... OK it made the fuel guage like an old series 2 where it bounces all over the place on rough roads, but at least it read accurately. |

"pop the tank sender unit out ..." right. I don't have a hole in the floor - yet. I can't see an easy way to do that one. ?
So, start with the inst. panel and wiring / earths there and hope. Thanks for the suggestions to date. Sold the much modified 110 2.8, in Oz Brought the 90 home from Switzerland ... |

alas no inspection hole means a tank drop if you dont want to cut one.
i would be surprised if its the dash end of the car that's at fault but its a Lr so anything is possible |
