CTEK D250SE and solar power
Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience of the CTEK D250SE DC-DC charger?

The green ‘on’ light is on at all times.

When the ignition is off and the sun is shining, the amber solar panel charge light is on and the amber battery light is on (battery is not fully charged) but I cannot see a current on my battery monitor indicating the auxiliary battery is being charged.
When the ignition is on the amber alternator light goes on and the amber solar panel light goes off and I observe current on my battery monitor indicating the auxiliary battery is charging.
The manual says it can charge from both the alternator and solar panel at the same time.

So, I appear to have two issues;
1. A lack of observable charge from the solar panel even though the indicator on the unit suggests it is charging. Is this normal?
2. The loss of solar panel charging when the alternator is supplying power.

This is about the extent of my troubleshooting skills. I do not possess a multimeter. I plan to see the auto electrician that installed the unit for me for his assistance but was wondering if anybody had any experience with these units and might be able to offer some insights of possible causes. I need to get the voltage from the solar panel looked at first.

Thanks for any help offered.
