Mudflap & wing stay reinforcing bracket
Hi all, I have a 110 Defender XS and had noticed the offside rear mudflap was loose. when checking it seems at some point the bolt holding the mudflap bracket to the rear wing had pulled through the hole in the wing.
I have purchased the YRM reinforcing bracket, which is 3mm bare aluminium and comes with a tuble of bonding sealant.
My question is has anyone fitted these? should I paint the brackets before bonding in place as they are bare aluminium at the moment, or just bond them in and ensure the edges are sealed to prevent water ingress? My aim is to do as much as I can to prevent corrosion. Any tips or recommendations?
Mark
