After over 15 years using various Budget 50 litre ones for my work I upgraded to a 100l Wolf twin cylinder with a belt. All I’ll say is that I wish I’d bought one year’s ago. It’s much much quieter for a start and has enough capacity to spray paint. It will run a DA Sander, but not for long. I think I paid around £350 five years ago, but would be a bit more now. It will operate on 13 amp plug, but I fitted a 16 amp as I’ve got the larger ( cooker ? ) cable already fitted when I had my workshop wired. This stops it blowing fuses when under load. Hope this helps.

It rather depends what the air tools you want to run are, and how long you want to run them. On the whole, get the largest CFM you can, you will always want more air rather than less.

3hp motor connected with a belt to the twin cylinder compressor with a 200l tank. It was free so not complaining.

I have a pair of 3hp 1ph units here. One is direct drive and the other belt drive.
My advice would be to make certain you get a belt driven unit. |
