You will need to run a cable from the ecu. I believe ABS vehicles have a cable already wired to the correct pin but it doesnt go all the way to the dash. 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

just so you know my 2000 130 also had the grey wire from #19 pin, to the block behind the dash binnacle; just not to the tach.

That's typical I was hoping to avoid that by having part of the loom. Nevermind!
I don't think my 2003 TD5 has ABS so hopefully the pin 19 is spare. In my quest for OE finish I assume I can run the cable from pin 19 and then plug it into the back of wherever this black cable meets the harness behind the dash? I.e Trace the cable circled to the connector on the dash loom and should be blank on the other connector? Haven't explained that well but hopefully makes sense Click image to enlarge |

I have to fit an OE rev counter to my 2001 TD5 and have fingers crossed the grey/white ECU wire is behind the dash. Car does have ABS... well, at least an ABS light comes on when I start 2001 90 TD5 SW - Juice Motors Resto Mod - Epsom Green

I ran a wire from the ECU when I fitted my rev counter...at the time I was unaware that there might already be a wire in the instrument binnacle...where should I be looking next time I'm in there poking around?

In the plug (bulkhead side), pin 14 is the rev counter signal, usually WHITE/GREY.
It's one of the corner wires, if you have corner wires of WHITE/GREEN, GREY/BLACK, GREEN/BLUE and an empty corner then you're out of luck. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

But if I have a blank corner on mine I can run the ECU wire to that connector and then just plug and play from the binnacle loom? |

Does anyone know the pin types for the dash loom connector?

The Grey 14-way connectors are Sumitomo HD090 Series Connectors.
Male connector on the instrument harness, female connector on the vehicle harness. I have both male and female terminals. Paul. 1989 Arles Blue 2.5TD 110 Hardtop 1999 Epsom Green Discovery II 4.0 V8i 'XS' Last edited by PaulMc on 5th Apr 2024 5:41pm. Edited 1 time in total |
