Aircon / Heated Seats- Puma 2.2 Tdci Utility XS
Firstly Aircon.

Should it get properly cool? Is the single AC button to be used in conjunction with the standard blower? At best we get a cooler breeze. With the usual gearbox/drivetrain heat, it was windows open to cool down.

Heated Seats.

How warm should I expect these? They are of course not multisetting BMW heated seats.

Other standard issues to work on: last bit of fuel leaks on a full tank. Smile Bit of a wobble at higher speeds. Some kangarooing low down. Some 'schlack' in the drivetrain. The mysterious over-revving from 2500-3000rpm appears to have vanished. Front brakes smelling a bit warm.

When they're working properly the AC is cold and the seats get hot.

A common problem with heated seats is the wire becoming detached from the thermostat.
Details of how to fix here,

The fuel leak when filling may be the breather hose. WARNING.

Cheers I'll get onto that wiring check straight away. Have to get my head around what previous owners did with rear spotlight, re-connect the DRLs and fit a Blue Sea Add-on.

we have a 2016 truck and the aircon is always icy cold...
seats are reasonable and work well IMO but maybe not how some would describe as "toasty" albeit I don't have any other reference

What seats do you have? I had the half leather standard seats first and found they felt a lot warmer than the full leather premium seats I installed after.

As for the AC, I know I will get the details/names wrong but the mixer? could be stuck and while the dial set to the coldest setting, it's actually letting some heat in. It's cable driven can they can get jammed up. I recall mine was quite sensitive on the temp control dial and the slightly touch would heat things up excessively.

Good luck

Too cold sometimes Smile

When you press the AC switch, it'll automatically turn on the blower to it's lowest speed if the blower switch is on 0. You can of course set it to 2 or 3 to get more cold air though it wont affect the AC itself.
Opening the window may actually suck more warm air up from the hot gearbox.

Maybe have the AC fluid renewed.

With a digital thermometer in the middle vents by the clock my ac goes down to 3 degrees c but it does take a while to cool down the cabin and i can see the temp fluctuate as the compressor turns on and off.

The heated seats.. theres a thermistor in the seat back at the bottom and i broke mine by squeezing it with my thumb (it was stucking in my back and annoying) in the end i replaced it with a random one off ebay and the seat stays on for longer without shutting off - it gets too hot for me :/ 1953 80"

My aircon blows really cold air.
Overall heating regulation is quite unprecise, and not very effective, for far end of the car, so rear seats passengers will have different experience then driver.

Heated seats are one of worst I ever used. They are diesel-like - few minutes before you really fill something. I guess this is due to quite thick leather. Still better than nothing during winter.

The aircon probably needs a recharge.

Will get it topped up. If it doesn't need topping up, then theoretically I have a mechanical issue. Laughing 2001 Defender Special Vehicles TD5 Hardtop (Ex Scottish & Southern) Side Lockers, Side Hatches - Poorly chassis and bulkhead. (SORNd)
