Unlocking tailgate
Hi All,
Question, can anyone use the door unlock button with the engine on to unlock the rear luggage door?
On my 23 110 I have to turn off the engine before the button operates the rear door, which is a pain if your wanting to quickly load something up and dash off.

I think it is enough if you put the gear selector lever on "P"... but not quite sure 23.5MY Defender 110 D250 HSE

Don't get out of the vehicle with the engine running, my friend did this and someone jumped in and stole his (brand new) Transit van.

It was never recovered and the insurance refused to pay out as he'd left it with the engine running.

Not a case of getting out, sometimes I want to put stuff in the car while my mrs is sat in the driving seat.

If the car is in park you should be able to open all the doors once the central locking has unlocked then (which should happen when you get out).

Did you not read the post above.
I don’t need a lecture in what I can and can’t do with my own vehicle.
Also fitted with a ghost and anti hijack so not going to get far if someone did jump in. jump

Anyhow... Have you tried putting the car in park?

That was the case on the disco4 as well, I think it's to stop anyone from opening the tailgate on you while your stopped in traffic. MY23.5 SE Defender
