Hi,
I was wondering if the wear on my hi/low selector is still acceptable. On the vid it shows the wear on the low gear, the tolerance on the high gear (which is new) is much less. https://youtube.com/shorts/d1zfgQx1D5M?feature=share Thanks for your feedback |

Well there is a good amount of movement there for sure, but there is meant to be a bit as it is not a synchro-type selector. So if the two halves are too tightly meshed it would be very difficult to switch between High and Low and High, so there is built-in play to help with the movement.
Did you notice a problem with the hi/low selector before you disassembled the gearbox? The majority of problems are through lack of use or incorrectly adjusted mechanism. It is pretty normal for there to be a kuh-clonk when switching between hi/low. |
