Radio blanking plate on 2007 Puma
Haven't tried removing the radio blanking plate on my base spec 110SW but can I assume that there's a radio cradle installed behind it?

How do I remove it without damaging either the blank or the fascia to check?

Thanks

Mark

i changed the radio in my 08 Puma and there is no cradle.

the radio locates in the aperture in the dash and there is a rubber covered screw on the back that locates in a hole on a bracket on the bulkhead (i think).

Hi Shaun,

Thanks for the reply but what stops the radio from sliding out? The cradle usually has a locking / retaining mechanism that holds it in place. Did you have to take apart the dash to bolt it in then?

I would presume you have to buy and fit a radio caddy/fitment in order to install a radio Big Cry LANDYWATCH

most single din radios hav retaining clips as part of the chassis, as you push them through the aperture the clips gets pressed in and then spring out retaining the unit.

you don't have to take the dash apart, you just need a proprietry tool to remove a unit.

I don't suppose anyone has one of these radio blanking plates that they could photograph the rear of and post the pic on here so we can see the location of the tabs that hold it to the dash?
I'd like to be able to remove it without damaging or removing the dash.

It was a year since I did mine and no pictures, but I simply drilled a small hole in the middle of the blanking plate and used a hook to pull it off, it seemed to come away pretty easily.

I did it that way to avoid damaging the dash prising around the edges.

The stereo came with it's own "sleeve" which pushed into the dash then locked in by bending some tabs on the sleeve.

the radio then simply slotted in

Reminds me of a job I need to do. My dvd player is in but with no DIN radio cage Whistle Thought I'd leave it at the time for quick access and do it some time that was about 2 year ago Laughing
