Certificate of Conformity after engine swap
Hello,

I am looking for the possibility of obtaining the conformity of my Defender 90 following an engine swap.
From TD5 > V8 3.9l efi.

Some have obtained a type of "DEFENDER Heritage" Certificate directly from Land Rover.
How to get in direct contact with the factory ?

I just need a certificate from L.R. that it's OK! This engine goes very well in this body!

France 2002 Defender 110 Td5 DCPU Chawton White
Is this for the French territory New Caledonia?

You are screwed. The French are anal about this. You might consider submitting the car for inspection as a one off, if you are unlucky they will request documents for the parts and the installation. I think the year of the car will make a difference in the level of analness.

Land Rover do not want to have anything to do with it. At best they want to charge you for a document they have on file anyway with zero risk to them.

Or you do like most French, pretend you don't know and live a happy life. Passing the CT is your main challenge, maybe just give it a try, they might not care much either..

Good luck.

Thank you very much.
I like your answer. And yes, things that don't make sense just to bother you.
For exemple, my Defender approved 7 seats without seat belts at the rear seats but refused because gasoline power instead of diesel.
I'm waiting for documents from the British Motors museum (copy of factory records) and trying to get it "in rules" but, the engine number has been replaced by the V8's.
Have a good day.
