Unused connections
I’ve got my defender torn apart at the minute (it was nearly back together and then I bought a replacement lower dash!) which has seen the bulkhead wiring open for viewing. There are a number of unused connections and I am hoping someone can offer up what they might be for. I have a 2001 base spec 110 SW.. The four connectors above fuse block (2red and 2 blue) and a couple that are behind the instrument assembly (white, right a back of photo next to bulkhead). Also, there’s a red connector on the roof with nothing connected to it, again I’m wondering what it might be for. I think I’ve said before but please be aware I’m a total clot when it comes to electrical systems so if possible keep it simple please.

Those large connectors are "headers" for joining multiple wires together, e.g. ignition, illumination, etc. There may be one of more circuits using the same header, isolated internally.
