Mobile Data Services renewal issues- USA ONLY!
THIS IS FOR USA DEFENDER OWNERS (it works differently in the US… yes, we know it works in the UK, the process is different here).

Has anyone been able to renew their mobile data subscription in the USA? Mine has expired after the initial 1 year that came included on my '23 V8.

I want to give LR money to renew my services but there is nowhere to do so (either the app or online).
We also don't have a removable SIM card like other parts of the world.

We also can’t just call AT&T and add the embedded SIM card and IMEI number to our ATT Connected Car accounts.

I have called LR North America twice, opened cases, and they haven’t called me back over months.
it’s amazing that they managed to screw up something so simple.

There’s a company online that allows you to retrofit the Sim card reader, but they don’t do it remotely, and are only UK based…

The issues that Land Rover basically locked the ability to self activate it, and haven’t figured out how to renew the card that they’ve embedded and locked into your car.

I even tried calling T-Mobile and AT&T today and just adding the IMEI and SIM car #s to the account to get a hotspot... No dice, IMEI not compatible.

Losing it over this!

It's a bit of a mess. Mine ran out over a year ago (for the in car wifi). And I did exactly what you did at that time. I drive around w/ my Macbook in the car and wanted a redundant backup in case my hotspot on the phone didn't work.

Here's the good news. Since JLR NA has not figured out how to charge you for this... tis free. IE -- once it runs out, as long as you still have "remote" active subscription -- which should go for 4 years from new in the US market -- you will have wifi enabled with data plan.

I'm looking at my Remote app now, it says "Wi-Fi Enabled with Data Plan" Expired on June 30, 2022 and I can assure you my wifi still works perfectly. Even though your says expired - have you tried it? It should still be active.
