OBDII misery
Hey folks,
I'm getting sick of this 110" box of misery. ...

I've just got myself a 'Nanocom' but it won't power-up when connected to the OBDII port.
I checked pins 4 and 5 and have an Earth. Good.
I checked pin 16 and am only getting 0.24v - should be getting battery voltage.
I'd be happier if I wasn't getting any voltage as could then look for a broken wire etc.

To add to my misery - looking at the wiring diagram - Section 10;
Core 0632-1 goes to 100A link 1
Then into 60A link 2
From link 2 on C0570-1 into C0595-1 then to 5A Fuse 30.
From Fuse 30 on C0595-6 then a couple more name changes and a block connector and into the OBDII socket.

But....

Looking at the Power Distribution section 1;
Leaving Fuse 30 on C0595-6 takes you to the Radio. My power supply to the Radio is cut and taped in the dash (radio fed by leisure battery).

And, for the cherry on the cake...
According to the legend on the back of my fusebox cover -
Fuse 30 is a 10A fuse for the interior light.
Radio is 5A Fuse 17.

I'm not the best with electrickery but have managed with the excellent help from this forum but I'm down and out on this one. Don't even know where to start.....

Any help/advice gratefully received - even if it's 'buy a Gallon of petrol and a box of matches'.... 😄😄 2002 Land Rover 110 Td5 Utility

Assuming your profile is correct, and you have a 2002 Td5... (with the 3 blocks of fuses), then this is the wiring for the OBD socket.

The "blob" A143 is a splice or joint, annoying the RHD diagrams don't show this fully, but the LHD ones do:

So, from the fuse it splits at A143 to the radio and off to the header. The header is like a "bus bar" which splits the feed up:

Again, annoying this is drawn badly, as it's not clear the feed "in" from the fuse is C0287-17 via A143.

Anyway, supply in is to 17, and out to OBD from 18, speedo from 16 and 20, interior lamp(s) from 15.

If your speedo keeps its trip memory OK, and your interior lamp(s) are OK, then the fuse and the supply to the header is OK, suggesting a broken or damaged wire between the header the OBD port itself.

If either of those not OK, then need to look at the fuse or supply into the header.

The fuse box label is correct, it's trying to be concise though and leaves out a lot of detail.

Fuse 17 is the 'aux' position supply to the radio.
Fuse 30 is for the interior lights, but also the permanent supply (memory saver) for the radio and speedo, and the OBD supply.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Flippin' 'eck - that's excellent - thank you.
That gives me some things to aim at tomorrow when I've thawed out...

My interior light has never worked but all three of the door switches are missing so assumed it was due to that.
I've never tried using the trip - will experiment tomorrow.

I will update tomorrow although suspect that it'll be more tales of woe.... ( I need to start enjoying my Landy instead of getting irritated by all of the bad bits). 😄😢😄

**Saturday update**

With engine running I get 14.2v at both Fuse 17 and 30 (11.6v engine off).
The 'Trip' keeps its memory - assuming a quick ignition off, key out and then back in and on again will do..??

So I guess I'm looking for a broken cable between the header and the OBDII socket as you suggest Martin.
Do you happen to know where the header is..??
