Nope no idea about these tyres... But they look pretty darned good...

Today these are about £70/tyre cheaper than the BFG AT (if you can get the latter) Plus they are 3-Peak compliant too. I would give them a go if I needed new tyres. Now... If Davanti only did tyres in 255/85/16 I suspect they'd never be able to make enough of them. |

Just noticed that the Davanti is an E for fuel and the BFG AT is an F... If that matters at all in a Defender.

Hello,
I have driven both on and off road on the Davanti Terratoura AT and I know the guy who does the development and testing work for them well.....as I sometimes assist him with testing. In short, very impressed. On road very well mannered, very predictable in the wet and they are particularly strong in the snow- I drove on them at at test facility in Finland earlier this year and they were very very impressive indeed. Off road, grip in a straight line is very good- like all ATs they do clog in very thick mud- however they do self clear fairly quickly, they were also superb on wet rock. They took a long time tweaking the compound, and the tread pattern to get it through the noise regulations whilst maintaining good performance. In terms of quality, I am aware they had a few niggles early in production but Davanti seem to be over that- and they are very pro-active in resolving the few issues they have. I’ve had a set of these on my FL2 for the last 18months, I originally wanted a set of cooper discoverer at3’s but my tyre fitter managed to get the above for about £20 a wheel cheaper. I’m quite impressed really, they do everything I wanted to do mainly it can pull a loaded horse trailer across a wet field without any issues, don’t seem to impact fuel consumption, and are wearing well.
They are a tad noisy but I doubt I would hear them if they were on the defender. I haven’t tried them in the snow yet but they are very good on wet tarmac. |

Well first impressions have been good. I did some marshalling for an event at the weekend where the rain turned the car park into a swamp pit. Pulled out vans and cars with no trouble whatsoever. Treads seemed to clear quickly. And my MPG has also improved slightly.

I would also like to tell you about my first experience with Terratoura. I have been driving Cooper STT in 265/75 16 since 2009 and have now switched to Davanti Terratoura, same dimension.
When the STT are slightly worn, they start to make a hell of a noise and an extremely rough ride which has been annoying me lately. Since I don't need a MT anymore, it was time for an AT with snowflake-rating. But the Terratoura has clear weaknesses to the STT on wet roads, I would never have thought that! Also the lateral grip is significantly weaker, that was to be expected and has to be compensated by adjusting driving. For the first time I discovered the tyres squeal in tight corners in a Defender. Fuel consumption has dropped by 10% from a standstill ~24mpg. I am curious to see how the wear will develop. |

I would feed this back to the guys at Davanti in the UK and see what their response is.
They were consistently top performers in benchmark testing for wet road performance- in fact I recently observed some wet braking performance evaluation on them compared to a "market leading" brand.....and the Davanti tyres absolutely annihilated the other tyres... Best Regards Chris |

That is really interesting and honestly I took that into account and that was the reason for buying them. It was very wet after the long period of dryness. Maybe these special slippery conditions lead to that behaviour. I will monitor it in the next weeks and definately give feedback.

I'm really interested in this, I have Wildpeaks on at the moment and they are fantastic in the wet and I'm just about to pull the trigger on some Davanti's but not if the wet weather performance (or dry for that matter) is worse

My Terratouras have been fitted for 5 months now and I can't fault them.
They've been completely reliable, predictable and confidence inspiring in the wet/very wet that we've been experiencing - and I live in Cumbria.... Standing water on dual carriageway at 65mph and deep puddles on twisty lanes are all handled without fuss.
