I've just ordered the full service parts from GSF, so will change all the filters and engine oil once it's back home. 2011 CSW XS 90

So cleaning the seats and replacing the seals has resolved the problem.

Including the new seals, testing the the injectors, doing the compression test, and replacing the glowplugs I'm looking at £505 including VAT.

Apparently getting the glowplugs out was a pig of a job.

I don't think £500 is too bad considering.

Will sort the oil and filter changes this evening.

Thank you all for the advice!! 2011 CSW XS 90

interesting
hi,
seems you are lucky

the price you paid is what I did paid only for the remplacement of the glowplugs, not easy work

Forgot to mention, I got about 6.5 litres of oil out and the oil was very dirty / thinner than it should be.

This is the sixth time I've change the oil (it gets serviced by an independent annually, but I change the oil at six months in between the "proper" services) and the oil was the worst I’ve seen come out.

The oil change thread on here is excellent; having the correct oil spec and quantity, the required socket sizes (and extension), plus the required torque spec, all set out is super helpful.

I also changed the fuel filter and other than a very small amount of water, the contents of that were clean. 2011 CSW XS 90

SJM2018 - I’ve got to do mine shortly, if you mind me asking where did you get your servicing parts from? As a kit or bit by bit each item?
I always use Genuine for service parts, is that what you did? No Guts, No Glory.

I tend not to bother with genuine parts when I do my services, instead I use OE quality filters from Mann / Mahle.

I go to GSF and get:

MANC25122 air filter - https://www.gsfcarparts.com/manc25122
BGAPK1400 sump plug - https://www.gsfcarparts.com/bgapk1400
HGTE44HD110 oil filter - https://www.gsfcarparts.com/hgte44hd110
MANWK8036 fuel filter - https://www.gsfcarparts.com/manwk8038

Only point to note; the oil filter doesn't clip down like the one's from Land Rover do, it sort of presses against the spring in the oil filter cup and the writing on the fuel ends up the wrong way round when you fit it.

The genuine oil filters aren't much more; I think £18 from my local dealer.

I get the following oil from Halfords:
