Looks like a TDCI, either way I would find it really difficult to say no to a VGT turbo As long as the supporting mods are there of course (intercooler etc.).

Worth a read of Bell auto services advice on upgrading to their VGT hybrid Turbo. They insist on a non restrictive air intake or induction system and an uprated performance intercooler, plus state to take full advantage of the turbo you will need a MAP.
https://bellautoservices.co.uk/store/defen...rid-turbo/ So that’s £500 more for the turbo, £550 for the intercooler , circa 200 to upgrade intake and £650 for the map, so circa £1900 more than a std replacement turbo. |

And an ageing 2.4 that has just had a new head gasket fitted?

I should have said I already have the BAS intercooler, remap and silicone hoses. & Demand exhaust with decat and sports silencer. 70k on the clock and just unfortunate with a slight weep on head gasket which on long runs would pressurise the tank 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

You will be disappointed with a hybrid turbo on the TDCi engine. Stick with the original > 110 XS Double Cab

I would be looking at a hybrid turbo from CR Turbos if my 2.2 needed a new unit. Charlie

Spoke to Pete Bell last night who gave some real world advice on hybrids, top bloke tbh.
for the extra 15-20 bhp for me its not worth 2 thirds extra over the standard. I think your right @hank looks exactly the same as mine @landy andy best place to place an order? would a return still be viable with a snapped flange? 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8 2010 110 XS Utility 2.4TDCI 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 (gone) 2007 Discovery HSE TDV6 (gone) 1993 110 csw 200 tdi (gone) 1994 90 HT 300 tdi (gone) 1994 discovery 300tdi (gone) 90 hybrid 3.5 v8 (gone) Range rover bobtail 3.5 v8 (gone) |

Turbo Technics do brand new Garrett Turbo units really reasonably.
Alternatively I have a couple of spare housings if you need one FOC - see here https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic87964.html > 110 XS Double Cab |

Hank that would be fantastic! If I could have a housing off you it would get me going and give me a bit time for shopping around.
