Some of these special Lego models have limited production and are quite collectible - I have one of their numbered models of the Maersk Tripke E container ship - cost me €100 from the company but now un-numbered un opened boxed kits of the ship are selling for nice money! I also have one of their New Defender models (which I have to say is not as nice as the Classic Defender model ) bought to make with my 8 year old fanatical Lego modelling great nephew when he’s old enough not to throw a hissy fit when when the mechanicals won’t work and have to be rebuilt………. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Call me an old curmudgeon but I do think modern Lego has lost the plot.
It has turned into a Lego version of an Airfix kit (without the fun of releasing components from their sprues, carefully applying just the right amount of glue and then painting) where you end up with one finished build. You follow the provided instructions and end up with a pre-determined result. In my youth (many, many years ago) the fun of Lego was the creativity of building things from a limited range of basic components without any instruction sheets or custom made components. That being said, the 90 does look great. |

Lego has always offered both, the large boxes of bits are still available. I was given one as a joke present, I now realise at 37 I’ve neither the imagination or the patience that I had when I was 7 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Some years ago when they were still basically kids toys, they just weren't selling. The bigger and more expensive kits are aimed at adults and that's a very big part of Legos market now. I've bought odd sets on and off for the past 20+ years ever since I started working. I'll certainly be getting the 90! 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

Very funny thing happened today, it was my last working day of the year, and maybe my last working day with the company ( that's another story)
anyway of the lads i work with, he is an agency worker, one of the best lads i have trained in and worked with. He is a bit of a Lego and model collector, anyway we got talking about various models etc. I said are you not into the ones that you do a monthly sub, he said nah, the thing ends up been hell of a lot more than its worth. A couple of months ago, Go north east bus service decided to have a strike which caused some trouble. So he said sod that and bought an E scooter, which i ended up nicknaming white lighting. I happen to pass him in my defender and gave him a toot, basically a mick take. So he later repaid the favour and bought me this as a daft Xmas present and a nod to the defender Click image to enlarge I did mention about the thread on here i posted about the green one, I am trying to get my dad to build this, with his going in for restore, but he is a bit of a miserable sod. I may not build it either, as i don't really have the space for it, But if i end up staying where i am, i think i will pass this on to my mate, who has a son, near enough the age to build it. Sort of a father and son thing. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Love the 130!
Ok, the rear of the tub is a bit too beefy in my view, especially with the 2 spares, but otherwise great job! Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000 |
