At least one warning triangle if not two. Personally I love these magnetic hazard/beacon lights. They last a long time are active (rather than passive) and very bright. Plus they are a torch as well. Yes they are quite dear but worth it in my mind - £7 each. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08L3F...8&th=1 |

Should also say that when you have a roll cage you can light up your Defender like a Christmas tree or a movie nuclear missile silo just before pressing the big red button.... |

Christ, anyone would think LRs are unreliable...
I have two lick buckets of ratchet straps in the boot because I quite often call in at the builders merchant on the way back home so used for strapping timber down to the roof. We did use one of those to pull someone out of a ditch a few months back. There's a couple of bottles of water but those are for the dogs incase we stop at the beach on the way back from the school run. The mongrel is useless and just drinks salt water and makes himself sick. There's also a little suitcase toolbox but that's in there because I'm quite often called whilst I'm on the way somewhere to fix something so saves having to return home to get tools. Never used those on the Defender though... Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

Winter ( snow ) specific:
One piece snow proof lined overalls sleeping bag Shovel Full tank of fuel Green Lane trips only: Chainsaw Bow saw Lopers Spade Always: Coats, hats, gloves etc Tool box Top up oil - engine, atf, diffs, brake fluid Recovery stuff Old coat and waterproofs Waterproof boots Warning triangle First aid kit Fire extinguisher Spare bulbs and fuses with tape and roll of wire Water and dog bowl Rags Torch Duck tape Map Old wiper blades and arms Engine specific stuff - belt, fan switch Flasher relay Spare mirror head Mine is set up as a camper, so there's always a stove, tea, cutlery, water and so on carried. It's also got a second battery. As for tool box, there should be enough to fix most stuff, Its a big box! It should also be said that quite a few things could be essential for my work. On the list: Ratchet straps Tyre sealer Rtv Gallon of diesel Probably some other stuff. It may seem excessive perhaps, but I've used ratchet straps to fix broken suspension, took out a broken CV whilst green laning, taped up a broken window, used the ropes to tow out cars from ditches and snowdrifts ( most recently an enormous motorhome in Scotland ) and cut plenty of fallen trees out of the way over the years. The warning triangle I last used when I ran out of diesel - see above! |

Replaced the Jump leads in my boot pack with a Noco back when i had a D5 that had constant battery issues. Helped me out a couple of times and gives you piece of mind you dont need to find a friend to jump you. Also helped a local out with it, so much easier than juggling your car close to theirs on a busy road you can park safely behind with hazards and triangle etc.
Also ditched the boxed of bulbs, when i realized they are irrelevant on modern LRs 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE RR MY23 HSE PHEV D5 MY19 HSE - Now Sold D4 MY16 HSE Luxury - Now Sold D4 MY12 HSE - Gone D3 MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten |
