Hi all,
I plan on mounting a diesel heater in my 110 DCPU. I dont have any space under the seats currently, and also cant use the space behind the rear seats as use that for rifle storage. The back of the pickup has a lockable canopy. Requirements, heat the cab, occasionally heat the load area (dry wet kit), occasionally run ducting up to roof tent. So I'm currently leaning towards fitting the diesel heater in the back of the pickup on the drivers side wheel arch which will give me easy access to fuel and to power. I can also then exhaust burnt gasses through the wheel arch into this area. Here comes the problems, I could leave the sliding window open between the cab and the back to warm the cab, but I also have a roof tent I occasionally use, I'd have to then run some long ducting out the window and up to the roof tent. Alternatively, I've looked at fitting the diesel heater under the rear seats but there is very little room and dont think I'd be able to clear the cross members. Has anyone fitted a heater here and have pics to show orientation and how the exhaust and air inlet misses the cross member? Any other locations options im not thinking of? Next to the battery blowing into the passenger footwell is also an option but not sure I could make that work due to space? I also occasionally drive through deep water so mounting higher would be preferable. For fuel supply im thinking of using one of these rather than trying to gain access to the fuel pump in the fuel tank. https://www.butlertechnik.com/eberspacher-...252a-p1291 Thanks in advance for any tips, advice or pointers that I might have missed. |

You can mount the heater under the cubby box if you don't have a centre seat?
If I occasionally want to reroute the heater output somewhere other than the cab, I have a cheap tumble drier hose (£6) that I fit over the heater output vent and route it to wherever I need the heat. I have mine under the rear seats, sitting under the rear sear on the passenger side with the heater inlet towards the door and the heat outlet under the middle seat. Exhaust and combustion inlets via the floor. Exhaust exits just by the wheel arch area. Fuel tank under the bonnet along with the pump.
