I have for sale my 2007 Land Rover Defender 2.4 TDCI County Hardtop finished in Keswick Green. It is in exceptional condition both inside and out. I have gone to great lengths (and cost) to maintain its out of the factory country charm whilst making some minor improvements to its ‘liveability’. It is with a genuine heavy heart I am advertising it for sale.
Model: Land Rover Defender County Hardtop (with cold weather package - heated seats, heated front and rear windscreen) Year: 2007 Colour: Keswick Green Wheels: Wolf wheels with Goodyear Wrangler MT/R tyres (11mm of tread on all, 14mm on spare) Mileage: 86000 Service & MOT: Both completed on the 29/09/2023, full service history with receipts for all work carried out under my ownership. I also have the original advertising/specification booklets and first aid kit to include. Keys: Two sets of keys with immobiliser fobs. Location: Aberfoyle, Scotland Mechanically, electrically, structurally and all other ‘allys’ the vehicle is sound. It starts first time round regardless of temperature. Galvanised chassis / underside restoration: In 2021 I had the original chassis replaced with a galvanised chassis (all work carried out by Strathearn Engineering). At the same time I also had the following work carried out: - All suspension components replaced (new springs / dampers / galvanised turrets / bump stops) - All brake components replaced (lines / rotors / calipers / pads / shields etc) - All radius arm bushes, trailing arm bushes, panhard rod bushes, A-frame bushes etc replaced. - New front and rear anti-roll bar kits fitted. - Swivel balls replaced and new seals fitted. - Steam cleaned engine and gearbox. - New clutch, slave cylinder and thrust bearing. - EGR valve replaced. - New galvanised front bumper, galvanised towing assembly and fuel tank cradle. - New towing electrics - Front and rear axles reconditioned, primed and painted. - Whole underside sealed with Dinitrol. Other Exterior work: - 2” Demand stainless steel exhaust fitted. - Alive Stage 1 Remap to improve day to day driving. - Stainless steel hinges front, rear, bonnet and windscreen blocks, shot blasted and painted body colour (no more rust streaks on the paint). - Stainless steel mud flap brackets. - Wrington wheel nuts fitted to complement the wolf wheels. - Wing mirrors and arms replaced using genuine parts. - Washer jet replaced with fan pattern one to improve window cleaning. - Numerous other little jobs, all bolts replaced with stainless, light bezels replaced with stainless, new number plate lamp etc. Interior work: - Full headlining replacement with genuine parts. - New front and rear floor mats. - Front and rear door seals replaced with genuine parts. - Blaukpunkt Bremen SQR 46 radio to replace the original radio, looks like it could have been fitted at the factory but with the added benefit of bluetooth connectivity, handsfree calling etc. - Skytag GPS tracker fitted with live view / geofencing (subscription service) Issues: - There is a minor amount of paint bubbling in the bottom corner of the rear door window. - There is minor paint corrosion to the windscreen surround. - The diesel cap won’t lock but I’ve never thought to replace it. It would make a fantastic vehicle to enjoy as it currently is, or to use as a base vehicle upon which you can build your dream defender. Happy to take you out for a test drive in it, though I will be driving due to insurance reasons. Vehicle is ready for collection, bank transfer on collection. Thanks for looking and please get in touch if you are interested or have any questions. That is probably the cleanest 2007 Defender I have ever seen, it looks brand new! Good luck with the sale.

I agree - it’s Superbulous.
I am arriving at the conclusion that I must have some form of untreatable ‘condition’ that makes me want to buy ALL of the Defenders coming up for sale on her… |

Think I have the same condition, although want and reality are somewhat different!! If I was spending that much I would personally want to drive though. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Thank you everyone for the compliments on the vehicle.
If some one was serious about buying it I could see about adding them onto my insurance for the day so they could drive it. I just don't want to invalidate my insurance policy by letting someone uninsured drive it that's all. Last edited by Rye54 on 20th Nov 2023 6:22pm. Edited 2 times in total |

It was just a passing comment, I would only go for a viewing if I wanted to buy it and have insurance for other vehicles I don't own. I would be put off viewing as it says I can't drive it. Purely an observation, I know where you are coming from but it may also put people off. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

I think the problem is that most people have insurance to drive other vehicles, however this is usually only for 3rd party damage. If you prang the motor you're test driving, everyone is then in a tricky position.
I've never let unknown 3rd parties drive my vehicles when selling. |
