Evening folk ...
I'm considering doing a repair to my 1994 chassis (corrosion) Can anyone advise on the right gauge/spec of sheet metal I should be looking at please. Many thanks John 2010 Defender 90 300Tdi CW (White/1994) 2021 Defender 90 300Tdi SW (Blue/1994) |

Thanks Paul - Appreciate the reply. 2.5mm / 14 AWG is good

I thought AWG is for Wire.
Pretty sure that the original chassis is just 2mm with a lot of internal spot welded stiffening. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Hi Dinnu ... I think you'll find SWG is simply the European initials for Standard Wire Gauge and AWG is initials American Wire Gauge.
However, it matters not IMHO ... it a gauge of a thickness, be it wire or sheet metal ATB John 2010 Defender 90 300Tdi CW (White/1994) 2021 Defender 90 300Tdi SW (Blue/1994) |
