I get exactly the same!
I get a thin bladed plastic trim removal tool and wrap it in a thin wet fibre cloth. I poke it in one end just a little and drag it around the arch. The clips don't come off but the arch just gives enough. Bigger debris drops through and dirt sticks to cloth Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... A bit of poor design there
On our 2020 Jimny there's a flexible seal between the plastic wheel arch and the bodywork. This ensures no stones or grit can get behind. Better still , the plastic wheel arches can be removed without breaking all the clips, and they fit perfectly unlike the ones on my new Defender where they've distorted a bit and the gap is different at some points. Suzuki managed that on a vehicle that retailed under £20,000 |

Mine are distorted as well. I assumed it was because there was mud etc behind! The extended arches have an adhesive section that run round the perimeter, does that do a better job of keeping the crap out?

Would the extended wheel arches address the issue? They lift higher and are stuck to the bodywork. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

There is no mud behind mine..they have just decided to malform. The dealer didn't even look..which suggests they know its an issue sometimes Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow....
