Factory Winch
Hi, folks. I'm new here. I come from the land of Jeeps. Please be patient. 😆

Has anyone tried installing the factory winch on a V8? I realize Land Rover says this is not possible, but they also say that fitting the factory roof rails is not possible. Is this another case of GVW safety? Or is it technically not possible?

I've watched both Powerful UK's 5-part series on the factory winch install (non-V8 110) and Lucky8's Proud Rhino Hidden Winch install (v8 110). I've also read the Land Rover instructions for fitting the factory winch. It seems like it could work. That is, nothing jumps out as an obvious blocker on installing the factory winch on a V8.

I really like the look of the factory winch. I also like Lucky8's Proud Rhino kit. I'm just weighing all my options and would love some feedback from others.

Needs relocation of the washer fluid reservoir.
Other than that it is possible. No Mud flaps for my 90.!

Thanks!

Does Land Rover sell shop manuals? Or are they available online? Or is there an alternate resource for wrenching on L663 Defenders?

Triumph (the motorcycle company) sells their shop manuals online, and they're very good.
