05KD63 1985 Ex RAF Hong Kong Lightweight
Busy weekend spent getting the lightweight ready for its MOT this week after having been off the road over the winter.
Exhaust had given up the ghost so pinched the stainless one off my other lightweight which is being rebuilt at the mo.
Decent coat of lanoguard, bit of fettling with the alternator, hazard swtich and headlights and hopefully we're good to go.
Only 3 more MOT's to go after this one Smile

This one is the 3rd from last lightweight and served out in Hong Kong at Kai Tak airbase.

I bought it in 2004 when it had been sitting in a field up to it's windscreen in long grass for a couple of years.

MOT passed without incident.

Swapped the headlights out for Wipac Quadoptics (that came off the 110) and fitted our old favourites, LED bulbs from classiccarleds. Needed a bit of fettling with swapping the connectors over and fitting the led drivers outside of the headlight bowl as there wasn't enough room in there for them.

Went for the warm white ones to keep the original look and I can now see where I'm going at night Smile

Kept the old headlights as they get silly money on ebay!

She still had the old incandescent bulbs in there so had to replace the fittings with H4 connectors.

The difference is, aherm, night and day.

Got a feeling half the country will be camping this summer. Try opening your tent sideways. This allows access to the tailgate and also the front .

As long as the roads dry and no salt then it's out. Trailer is indispensable but the best piece of kit there is the BV on the frontier chimney. Could have sold dozens of these stoves at shows and events as everybody wants one.
Cheers Thumbs Up

Got around to fitting the tent over the weekend. Ended up mounting it a bit higher to give better access underneath.

Need to lose the shiny telescopic ladder, particularly as it likes to telescope in and out without warning, luckily no one saw me hanging upside down out of the back of the trailer πŸ˜€
