I bought this car to use as a donor for a project I had in mind, but it quickly became apparent this Defender was just way too original and too clean an example to mess with. Instead I've treated it to a bit of remedial TLC so there's really nothing for the new owner to do. Defender's this straight and original are becoming harder to find these days. This is the wrong car for me to start modifying so I'd prefer to let it go to someone else who'll cherish it and enjoy it for what it is.

The previous owner was a doctor who had used the car as a toy for occasional weekend camping trips. He told me he spent a long time looking for the right car before buying this one. During his and the previous owners ownership no expense had been spared in maintaining the Defender as the large slab of garage invoices for the thousands of pounds worth of work carried out will testify.
The invoices reveal it's had the usual chassis repairs over the years including a rear cross-member and outriggers but the folder of bills also includes a Feb 2021 invoice for Dinitrol treatment which should ensure the chassis should last for a good while yet. It's just gone through an MoT at my local independent LR specialist.

The bodywork is incredibly straight with no dents or dings to the panels. The original 'County' stripes were on the car when I bought it (indicating the panels are all original) but these were faded to the point where they were almost invisible so these were replaced with a set of aftermarket County stripes. The original paintwork is in excellent shape showing only minimal bubbling of the original paintwork around some panel edges towards the rear of the car while the body cappings show zero evidence of any of the usual Defender rot. The painted wheelarches are showing signs of fading but this car is now 27 years old. Sunroof doesn't leak! 5 new Continental Cross Contact tyres on 5 freshly refurbed genuine LR Freestyle alloys.

Located W Yorks.
