2015 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Java Black
Replacement EGR Cooler needed
Hi all,

Help / thoughts needed please.

I've done just over 100k in my 2015 2.2 TDCI. EGR cooler is leaking and indi garage are saying they are on back order from LR. What should I do:
1. Wait for original part at £363
2. Buy cheaper OEM - Britpart £265 or Allmakes at £270
3. Buy even cheaper replacement parts - Britpart £145; Allmakes £155

I'm unclear what the difference in reality is likely to be between the three - particularly the OEM and pattern parts from same manufacturer...?

All prices are from LR Direct and include VAT - https://www.lrdirect.com/lr049203-cooler-egr

All thoughts / poll submissions gratefully received.
TIA

I had wondered about that as an option. Are there any downsides to remapping a 100k engine? 110 UW - '15 2.2

The only downside is that you'll wish you'd done it earlier. It's never too late to remap!

It’s a standard ford part so I would check out the price and availability for a genuine ford one first. The ford part numbers will be on it.

As yours is a 2.2 I believe mapping out and blanking EGR / EGR cooler also requires mapping out the DPF and DPF removal. That’s something you need to check is correct as replacing the DPF downpipe with a convincing DPF downpipe shell is also costly but will need doing to pass MOT visual inspection.
