Roof spoiler
l've seen a few Defenders with the rear roof spoiler and quite like the look of it.

There's loads of sellers on Ebay offering this part for £100-200. Has anyone fitted one of these and what do you think of it?

lt appears to be attached with double sided tape, so unless it's 3M tape that would need changing straightaway.

l fitted stick-on headlight guards and they were great but in the recent hot weather one just fell off while the vehicle was parked !

l refitted them using 3M tape and now they are fine.

I’ve got one of these to fit
No tape… recommends adhesive.
Nice design. I don’t like the Powerful profile.

Completely
I’ve spent 40 years bolting bits onto my Land Rovers I don’t really need.. I just like how they look. When I think about it I guess I never actually needed a Land Rover

I fitted the Project Rebel spoiler, came fitted with 3M tape and was still attached last time I looked😜
Here’s a link for the one I fitted, though if you have a look on eBay etc, you will see they all appear very similar, suspect they all come from the same source, but I’ve bought a few things from Project Rebel and have been more than happy with the service I’ve received.

Whenever I stick anything on with 3M tape I also use 3M 94 Primer Adhesion Promoter and I've never had anything fall off yet. I was down at Hunters Prestige last week and they were saying that everything they stick on they use also the adhesion promoter and to make sure you get genuine 3M tape as apparently there is a lot of fake stuff around. Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

Hi Martin,

I have the Hunters Prestige version (£180) and they fitted it for me. I do know, and saw for myself when at their workshop, that they change the 3M tape that the piece arrives with them with for a ‘superior’ 3M version. They also use the adhesive promoter/activator prior to contact and supply it for mail orders.

So far, no sign of it failing at all and it doesn’t show any light underneath or allow water to flow under anywhere. Seems a good strong bond.

The main reason for me having one fitted was to reduce the ‘kick back’ of road spray and diesel smuts onto the rear window- a real problem with the L663 it seems. So far, it has had a noticeable effect but I’ll know more once we get more wet weather. D300 HSE 110
