Mystery Loose Hose
Hi all,

Returning to the collective hive mind of Defender2 to help me identify a mystery loose hose.

Currently in the middle of diagnosing an overheating issue we experienced last weekend (cruising at 70, around 30-32degrees outside, all of a sudden a complete loss of power for 5 or so seconds, with the temp gauge going up to around 3/4, then a return to normal - repeated three times over the journey) - lots of solutions well documented on here so working my way through.

Anyway, whilst doing a RELD test to rule out the head gasket - I noticed this loose hose just below the heater valve (images attached) can't say I have ever noticed it before and I was hoping someone would be able to tell me what it is, and where it's come from (if it has come from anywhere). Its around a 6mm OD hose (didn't have my vernier to hand for an exact measure), with a 180degree curve in the end.

Thanks all in advance! 2007, 110 Puma 2.4, Tonga Green, "Leonard"

No photos attached, no photos in your gallery.... Big Cry

However from you description it will either be the LT230 breather or the front axle breather. Very Happy

Thanks! Is that usual placement for it, or has it come loose from a fitting somewhere? 2007, 110 Puma 2.4, Tonga Green, "Leonard"

That's how they come from factory. Wading kits, such as those from Nugget Stuff, often have a more sophisticated termination!

That's normal, they seem to be an afterthought! However the two that come up there are in a less stupid place than the one for the rear axle.
