3 Aircon pumps in 3 years..... | |
Yesterday evening another Aircon pump made the all to familiar noise coming from the bearing. So there goes another one.
1 Pump breaks, can happen, 2 pumps can happen but very bad luck But 3 pumps in 3 years???? And all 3 pumps fail after / in the summer.
Does anyone have an idea if there is an underlying problem I need to solve first before replacing the pump (again)? a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

I lived in the US south where there are a lot of cars and no AC is not really an option. When the compressor fails it sends scrapnal and debris into the system which spreads all over. Any new compressor will fail from all that metal circulating around.
You need to clean the system by taking it apart and flushing it with a solvent both directions. Even then its 50-50 if your system will be good after..
In the US it helps you can do your own AC
