Never understood why folk fit them- especially in the UK- perhaps if I happened to be driving through the Darien Gap it might change my mind.........
I have only ever seen limb risers cause more damage to a car than if they weren't fitted- pulling fixtures out of wings bending bodywork or bending the roofracks they are mounted too. Chris |

I once saw a set on a classic Defender, the wing anchor points were so good it bent the wing…….
The best option would be to attach to a bull bar and then to a roll cage. Which isn’t an option on the New model. Drive slow and take a folding saw. |

I know the potential downfalls, but I've done some off roading recently where they would have been useful.
The Proud Rhino ones seem pretty good and can be easily put on and taken off as needed. Anyway, anyone fitted any? Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |

I think that they are also frowned upon by insurers and authorities due to the risk they present to pedestrians. There is little point in LR designing a compliant, pedestrian-friendly front end only for the pedestrian to be chopped in pieces by a (wholly unnecessary) bush wire.

Oh well, horses for courses. I was never planning to chessewire perdestrians on the Waitrose run.
Anyway, I think i've come up with a design that enables me to take them on and off as need be without anything protruding above the top of the bonnet height, but i'd still be interested to see what any new Defender owners may have fitted. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |
