Remote door locking problem on a 90. (NOW SOLVED)
Gone through various posts but can’t find an answer to the following.

Unlock with the remote. Drive stop then come to get out, pull the door catch and the car locks you in.
I can see when pulling the catch gently the button slowly starts to drop.
If I put a bit of pressure on the button to hold it up it works ok.
Anyone know if this is a door card off linkage issue or should I just squirt a load of grease wherever?

Thanks Ron.

I had (still have) this problem on my old 90, no central lock, passenger side. My problem is caused by the door lock mechanism. I investigated it, and could see a small lever was out of position /bent. I tried to correct it, it worked for a short while, but then the issue appeared again. I suspect caused by slamming the door. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

The central locking has been all over the shop, locking whilst trying to get out, locking when trying to get in etc etc.
Took off the door card and noticed the button was not reaching fully to the top when opening so I tried the hack of attaching some elastic cord to assist it.
This seemed to work for a while but then no, the locking would occasionally play up again.
Fortunately I hadn’t yet put the door card back on so I thought I’d have another look at it.
Having not used the key in the lock for years the barrel was rusted solid.
I removed the rod from the barrel to the mechanism and now the button comes to the top and it looks like (touch wood) it now works fine.
If you have remote locking problems and the door lock barrel doesn’t work, I suggest the first thing to do is remove the door card then remove the barrel to mechanism rod.
