Nav Alerts issues
I’ve only had my ‘23 defender a couple weeks now, I’ve generally been able to find answers the the questions I come up with. I have a couple issues I haven’t figured out yet.

I’m using PIVI for nav, not carplay or anything else. I have 4.0.1.

I set the nav alerts to chime, but I’m finding the alerts are too obnoxious. I haven’t found a way to adjust the chime volume. Is there a way?

Since the chimes are actually more annoying than voice (I hate listening to machines talk), it’s been less annoying, and as a yank I find it rather pleasant, to set the voice feedback to English UK. It almost always resets to US, and in any case has never stayed on UK for more than a day. Is there anyway to set it permanently or is this a bug?

With the voice alerts you have to adjust the volume when the car is talking so it may be the same with the chimes. You will probably have to switch to voice to lower the volume then switch back to chimes as I would imagine it's difficult to adjust whilst it's making a quick chime noise. Cheers Ian

I'll try that, adjusting the Nav voice down and seeing if it affects the chime. I don't think it will as the music mutes when the voice is speaking, but music is uninterrupted by chimes. I'll report back.

Any ideas about the voice switching back from UK to US?

What are the chimes warning you about?

Mine used to make annoying noises when I approached speed camera but that can be turned off in the settings.

The chimes are a substitute for voice guidance when navigating. Where she’d say “in a quarter mile turn right”, you get two beeps. They’re really obnoxious, not gentle chimes like I get in my Lincoln.

So I tried, the chimes aren’t tied to the voice guidance volume.

Still hoping someone knows how to make the UK voice setting stick.
