The whole things comes out, then remove the rings.
Ideally best removed from the rear to avoid stressing the Louvre assembly. They are a push fit, nothing to remove or un-clip. Then the rings can be took off and un-clipped from the Louvre assembly once removed. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

Yes. Give them a tug. If you are replacing then these are the very same as fiesta units > 110 XS Double Cab

Yep, 2006 - 2010 Ford Fiesta I think.
They can be bought for far less money and are identical. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

Click image to enlarge Thanks guys. I was thinking to replace them with the Mercedes A class fitments (yes, I know.....but I saw them on JE’s Zulu). So a tug and they should pull out far enough that I can get in to release the holding pins? I will have a gander at the Fiesta ones also. I looked at the Merc ones a while back but couldn't find any cheap enough to take a punt on. Have you seen them fitted in the flesh?

Never seen those A class vents before.
Yes, just pull the whole thing out and then you can get to the clips at the sides for the rings. The whole vent will come out including the rings but ideally you need to get to the back to just push it out. I would not try and prise it out as there is no need as it’s a push fit with a foam seal to the air vent duct behind. It’ll go back in just as easy. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

Really helpful to see it Steve....thanks.
At first glance they look shorter than the Merc ones, so will be interesting to see if there is enough space. Diameter on the Merc surround exterior rim is 4” which I think is doable. Cheers mate. 2015 Overfinch Defender XS 90 1998 50th Anniversary V8 1989 90 CSW Many Discoveries... |

Well....after taking ages to get around to do doing this modification....I finally managed to finish it!
So this is just for those who have thought about this particular change! Took a little bit of creative fitting but the new vents are in. Always a bit tricky when you are not 100% sure how to get the Defender ones out and these to go in. Two Mercedes GLA air vents are now in place.....and I think they look really good and just like the JE MotorWorks Zulu!! On now to the next modification..... Merc A Class ones on mine.
Need to trim them a bit more to get them further in but I like them, seem to work well aswell with more control over the air... Click image to enlarge |
