Cheap LED lights?
Hi all

Anyone on here tried any of the cheap LED light kits that are readily available such as the ones below?

Don't do it. Complete waste of your hard earned. If it is headlights you are thinking about then you are better off with decent Osram bulbs, wipe crystal headlamps and a headlight loom.

Cheap LEDs are just not worth the money.

EDIT: you are looking at the rest of the lights. I stand by the above. Just do not do it. Buy a set of Wipac or other named brand.

Hmmm… I’ve got Wipacs on my 300Tdi and am not that impressed with them. They have quite a narrow angle of light unless you are stood right in front of the vehicle. The best I have fitted were Bearmach ones but these are now like hens teeth.

I’ve had a few of a specific type of led headlights on 3 puma 110s so far and they’ve been fine.

I’m just looking to upgrade the indicators, sidelights, brake lights, reverse and rear fog. I’m not sure where the Wipac’s are made but it would surprise me if it were in China?

I fitted the Wipac standard size with fog and reversing light to mine many years ago (just a shame they don't do the rectangular fog and reverse to go on the 300Tdi but I'd rather be seen).

They have all functioned flawlessly since being fitted must be 7 or 8 years ago.

I did look at the bolt-on-bits ones but the reviews weren't great. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

It depends what your expectations are? Cheap LED headlights are bright but tend to give a poor spread of light compared to the likes of a Vision X Vortex which has a crisp cutoff and gives great illumination exactly where its needed without light scatter. The old Cibie halogen light units with a good qaulity Piaa bulb gave great dip beam performance and was kinder on tired eyes for long distance night driving but sadly no longer available.
