Ah, hadn't heard it called that before. It seems a bit of an unlikely component to cause an issue worthy of a recall given that it hasn't changed since at least TD5 days. Darren

This could still be the case, anyone been informed by DVLA(UK), RDW(NL) or equivalent?

From the wording of the notification I would suspect that it is a compliance issue rather than a failure issue. It may be that the regulations changed and the "stabiliser" didn't.

Going by Land-Rover's track record with (classic) Defender recalls, I would hold your breath! The cavalier manner in which they didn't really deal with hubs breaking off axles, and completely failed to deal with output shaft failures, piston cooling jet hysteresis problems, and several other serious or life-threatening defects, makes me think that once again they will spend more time, effort and cost avoiding liability than they will fixing problems.

Yes, agree that may well be the case. I that case I won’t hold my breath, keep calm and carry on Wink
