If you don't already have one then an IID tool is handy for later Land Rovers. Pete at BAS can load the map for you remotely so you can update the tool via the web and then add the remap yourself. You can then also take it off if the need arises.

Or buy his version of the diagnostics tool. Has a lot of the functions you generally need and will allow you to add and remove the map.

If you are going this route, perhaps also consider having the EGR mapped out at the same time.

Before any map I would suggest upgrading the highly restrictive air intake piping. I.e using the nugget stuff intake upgrade, then look at a BAS intercooler and silicon hose upgrade.
You will notice the engine performance improves with those upgrades alone.

I'd second this. On mine, I sorted out the air intake first, which was effectively like having a mild remap, such was the improvement. I've recently now had mine mapped to 150bhp by BAS and whilst it's very nice, it's not the step change in performance that I've noted when doing similar on earlier vehicles. Darren

+1 for BAS - I had the remap and intercooler on a 08 plate 145k mile and it has much improved the drive. BAS were also very good to deal with - good advice given.
