United Kingdom 2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 PU Alpine White
Safari windows
I want to convert my 110 utility into a safari by fitting rear side windows. I notice some on the market are clear glass and some tinted. I can’t work out if my 2009 Puma is tinted or clear. Can I tell from the code in the existing glass?

Has any body else done the conversion, and which windows would you recommend, original LR of aftermarket?

From the parts manual. There are two thickness alpine windows, 4mm and 5 mm. As far as I know the Puma is 4mm.

There is no such thing as a Safari unless you are looking at Citroen DS's? You will devalue a Utility by converting to Staition Wagon but if you really want to do it definatley only fit late spec new Genuine sliding windows. The sliding windows do start to rattle after a few years though.

Seems I meesed up. I thought it was the Alpine lights, commonly called safari windows that you wanted! I read your post wrong. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Can you see through it at 6ft away?

Here's mine. Front is "clear" which has a very light tint to it, rears are "tinted", both factory glass
