This has happened twice so far. I can't find anything in the manual to explain.
The red 'door open' light stays on after closing all the doors and starting the ignition. I first thought I'd left a door open or might have a faulty door switch. However, if I lock the doors using the keyfob, then open again, the light goes out as it should. No need to touch any of the doors, I just sit in the drivers seat. Is this a battery warning thing or an alarm warning? If not, what else could it be? |

What model truck do you have?
I think you're referring to the immobiliser/alarm light, I don't think there is a door open light on the dashboard TD5 hardtop to Puma inspired Poptop - my build thread 2002 110 TD5 Hardtop ¦ Full Puma interior ¦ Carpathian grey / Santorini black ¦ X-Vision-X poptop |

Regardless of model begin by taking a look at the door switches for corrosion.

If it was the door switch, why would locking, then unlocking make the light go out? I don't need to touch any of the doors!
It is the immobiliser/alarm light - it also comes on when doors are open. It's a 2015 110 XS SW. |

It'll be the battery in the fob!
A door switch fault would mean the interior lights don't behave. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Thanks for that. Fortunately, I have the spare keys with me! It first showed when I was in the back of beyond on Hoy. No mobile signal and a long way down a barely used track.
