You can’t have Air Suspension AND 5+2 seats now !
I ordered my Defender 110 two weeks ago with 5+2 seats AND air suspension…..I went to the dealer today as I wanted to change the colour of the car. He did the full configuration again, and I have now been told that I can’t have 5+2 seats if I want air suspension… the factory has removed that possibility…very dissapointing.

If you ordered both, be prepared for the phone call giving you the bad news,….

the Air is worth it, two extra passengers isn't. Thumbs Up

Coil springs are fine as well.

You need to drive both if you are concerned about it, and decide for yourself

As above, try both.

Personally I prefer the coils, I’ve had 2 90s on coils and a 110 on air, also had Discovery 3, 4 and 5 on air. Air perhaps has the edge over some of the more rutted roads.

It seems odd that they would delete it as an option for the 5+2 given how it aid’s access. Perhaps trying to push people towards the big 8 seat 130? 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

I would have thought EAS was essential for self levelling and having headlight beams not illuminating the clouds when the +2 are in use. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

You'd think so, but my 90 on coils doesn't sag at the rear even when the caravan is attached (nose weight measured at 90kg) and the back of the Defender has my 26kg outboard motor, 17kg folding e-bike and other gear in.

Well, it must surely go down a little but not enough to notice. And the lights have self levelling so will never "illuminate the clouds" anyway.

l assume it has progressive springs. Things have moved on since holidays in my dad's company Cortina 1.6L full of camping gear, when the exhaust scraped on the ground over bumps in the road.

Speedometer disconnected so he didn't have to pay for the mileage
Can't do that with the new Defender either !!

Thanks for all the replies , and plenty of valid points and information. I guess the bit I can’t understand is what would cause the factory to decide that this particular combination of options is no longer available. Could it be because very few people order the two together ? I don’t know how these things work. Anyway, I have decided that I will forgo the extra seats and just have the air suspension.

Interesting that the LR UK website still enables you to option up 5+2 and Air Suspension pack,
I would check with the dealer again, or ask another outlet to confirm.. I built using the configuration
based upon an 110 SE D250 model.. yet another pommie bar steward down under

Yes - the configuration allows both on the D250….but not on the D300

I guess you ordered the car a while ago…. It seems that it’s changed recently.

That sounds like a glitch in the configurator

That’s what I had hoped - but the dealer said that he had spoken to the people that do the actual ordering and that combination “is not currently available” Sad

D250 is pokey enough. Not sure the D300 would make much difference in the real world. If 5+2 is available with the D250 then why not go for that? Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.
