Defender TDI 200 oil housing filter block to gasket
Dear all

I am going to change my engine oil soon, and I would like to change the oil housing filter block to gasket as well.

So do I need to apply the sealant on this gasket (as attached pic).

Thank you so much!

You need gasket ERR3607 https://www.lrworkshop.com/parts/ERR3607 - No/12

But if you have some gasket paper you can make one yourself.

Officially... No... But... Some of these gaskets can be quite old stock so might be a little dryad hard. So yes a light smear of gasket sealer RTV is a good idea as it is unlikely you will want to remove the adapter ever again Thumbs Up

You do not need to for that application, but very small amount would not hurt. Do not put too much, as it will get into the oil passages, and could block somewhere later on. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
