Rear door fit.
l was looking at a very nice 2014 110 XS Utility today, and couldn't fault it. No oxidation scabs, clean chassis and interior.

But there was just one thing....the rear door fit. lt was flippin' appalling. There was a gap at the front of 1cm but at the rear it was more like 1.5cm to the point where you could get your fingers in.

Now, l've had five Defenders all TD5 and they're not great, but this seemed really bad.

ls this "normal" and just Frank and Bert on the LR assembly line in "rear tub alignment" who had been to a stag do the night before and were still hung over?

l'll post a photo when l can get back to the dealership. The rivets and seams all looked original so l don't think it's been in a crash, or repaired.

I'm guessing that you mean second row door rather than rear door, since you mention the gaps at front and rear.

The photo below shows the typical panel gap on a second row door, this is an ex-factory Puma. I'd say the one you describe is actually unusually good.

Could have had new hinges or something and not aligned tidy? Easy to sort. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

Hand built, will not be perfect. My 2011 has a little discrepancy in the same place. It is just that when the panels were riveted together the one on the right was not close enough to the one on the left. Every craftsman has an off day! 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
