My 2015 110 XS SW is due some TLC.
I've been quoted for: replacing windscreen frame fitting SS mudflap brackets respraying rear tub, cappings etc rear cross member and NAS bumper back to bare metal, repaint Dinitrol on underside I'm confident that the work will be to a high standard. Is £4.5K + VAT reasonable? It is planned to be a 'forever' vehicle, so the work does need doing. |

There is undoubtedly quite a lot of labour involved, particularly if they are doing a proper job and removing the roof and sides as lord-haggis suggests. That said, £4.5k + vat is steep IMO.
It might be worth tackling some of the jobs yourself if you are so inclined, others on here have written up their experience of undertaking most, if not all of the jobs you list. 1985 127 V8 Build Thread Series 2 109" Series 1 80" |

It's down to bare metal with roof and sides off. New LR window frame. Very much belt and braces with cavity wax in the new frame and surrounding areas.
I'm limited to how much I can do myself - bending to work underneath a vehicle is a guarantee of a migraine and out for 2 days. I even have to be careful spraying underneath with a hose. |

Best way to be sure is always to get three quotes, painting varies so much between places based on exp, also if they know what they are doing with land rovers and the prep for alloy on the frame etc and it’s baked and cured in a proper booth as opposed to lamps etc then it all has a bearing.

Is the capping being removed?
Many moons ago I bought a brand-new rear tub (genuine LR) with the capping already fitted, tub was in grey primer and capping had some kind of black coating. Came from LR ready to go straight to the spray-shop. Drilled out the rivets and the underside of the capping was almost completely devoid of paint with just the thinnest dusting covering the bare steel. No wonder the capping rotted out so quickly on painted models. Needless to say they were galvanised before going back on to the freshly painted tub. ONE LIFE, GET IT! |

Yes, the capping is being removed and the lower half of the back being repainted due to that missing paint.

That sounds expensive to me. A friend paid that sort of money for a change of colour full respray, inside and out.
I paid £600 for windscreen surround, rear cross memeber and B column one side and I think that included cutting down and respraying the bumperettes and fitting Bowler sills and new steps. All you can do is get a couple of quotes and see. If you fancy a trip to sunny Suffolk I highly recommend speaking to Cult4x4.
